Why did you contact me?
We may have reached out because someone referred you, you submitted an online enquiry, or we believe you may benefit from our support services.

Do I have to respond?
No — responding is your choice. If you don’t feel ready, you can get in touch whenever you are. Simply call the number back or reply to the text that you were sent.

Is there a cost?
Our services are free with a referral or low-cost without one. We can clarify this during your first session.

I’m an existing client

Why am I receiving another call/text/email?
We may be checking in, confirming an appointment, or needing to update some information.

Do I need to respond?
If the message asked you to confirm an appointment or provide information, a response is helpful. Otherwise, it’s optional.

Could this be an emergency?
If something urgent has come up, we’ll clearly state that in the message. Otherwise, it’s just a routine contact.

I’m a loved one of a client

Why did you contact me?
We may have been given your details as an emergency contact or support person. We only reach out when it’s appropriate and safe to do so.

Will you tell my loved one what I’ve said?
No. Unless we have explicit consent, we won’t share personal details.

What should I do if I’m worried?
You’re welcome to let us know your concerns. We can explain the next steps or help arrange appropriate support.

I’m a referral provider

Why did you contact me?
We may need additional information, clarification, or updates about the referral you made.

Do I need to respond quickly?
Timely responses help us support the client sooner, but we understand services can be busy.

What information can I share?
Please share only what is relevant and appropriate within your professional boundaries and privacy obligations.

I’ve been contacted about a client

I’m not related to this person — why did you contact me?
We only reach out when it’s appropriate and safe to do so. Sometimes the people who matter most aren’t family. If we’re contacting you, it’s because our client has identified you as a trustworthy figure in their life. Take pride in the fact that the way you’ve treated them has made such an impact.

Should I call 000?
If you or the person is in immediate danger, then yes — always call 000.
If there is no immediate danger, please let us handle it.
We have the full context, the client’s history, and often an existing police report or safety plan already in motion. We aim to coordinate these responses carefully and respectfully — so unless it’s an emergency, let us take the lead.

I think I might know something, but I don’t know if it’s important.
Tell us anyway. Even small details can help. Let us decide if it’s important or not. If we need specific details, we’ll reach out with direct questions.

How should I tell you?
The best way to share information is to reply directly to the staff member or caseworker who contacted you. They’re already familiar with the situation and can make sure your information goes exactly where it needs to. You can also send an email to contact@brighterdayssupportwork.com.
